制作期間:2019/07/28~2019/08/21

若手カーデザイナーを対象に開かれたデザインワークショップに参加。
開催地はサンフランシスコにある美術学校AAU(Academy od Art University)。
現地でのフィールドワークを通して個人で設定した課題に向き合い、自分なりに導き出した考えや仮設のプレゼンテーションを行った。

My theme
We often say "Not just a product, but an experience".
However, in the end we focus on making and selling product. I think we should shift our frame of mind to produce and sell an experience over emphasizing the product itself.

  1. What is a fun experience that only SUBARU can deliver?
  2. What things (cars, dealerships, show booths, events, etc.) are necessary to deliver the experience?
  3. What kind of functions, designs, and services are needed to implement these things?

"The Earth-tainment Gear" This is my concept. It is a made-up word, which combines "Earth" and "Entertainment".
In this time, like students at AAU, I am also thinking about trying to propose a collaborative work. So I thought about what kind of company I could collaborate with.
And then I found REI.

That is because there are a lot of things that they can empathize with each other. These are actually written from the website of each company.
For example, the idea of living together with nature and a community that helps each other grow. They cherish nature to enjoy the nature.

Next, I came up with a persona.
They get excited by scenes and test many gears. But wanting to live daily life with us few things as possible. This is a their pain point. Right?

I am proposing an "Eye-Sight trailer" that carries only as many tools as you need for your trip. Since the Eye-Sight trailer has cruise control function, anyone can drive it easily.

It is about shape. I am thinking of scalable functions and services baced on the strong structure of a Hexagon.

Next, about a service . It is a pretty simple. Just choose the necessary tools one week before going on a trip and decide the meeting point. This will be available for $10-$20 per month.

The gear combinations are endless. In other words, the ways to enjoy are endless. It is not the data that provides values, but from values that we gather data.

I am also thinking about a system that connects with the trailer they met on their trip. Therefore it will go beyond the value of a product into that of an experience.
